He does an AMAZING voice of Edwin Blackgaard, and a wonderful villian voice of Regis Blackgaard! ;-)

  • Lindsey S. on May 1st, 2009 - 12:20pm

Earl Boen is one of my favorite actors because I love Regis and Edwin Blackaard sooo much. Edwin is so funny because he’s so dramatic all the time and Regis is my favorite villian of all time! I know that Mr. Boen is living in Hawaii, but please still have him on the show. Odyssey just wouldn’t be the same without him!
Thanks Earl Boen for all that you have done for Odyssey after all these years. Odyssey is a better place because of you!!!

This guy did an EPIC job as LeChuck.

  • MacyAnne on August 7th, 2011 - 10:07am

Regis is probably my favorite villan. I don’t like Phillip Glossman, he sounds too much like he is VERY satisfied with himself. Nothing personal, Mr. McCusker.

  • dave on December 9th, 2011 - 7:00pm

There is no better voice actor alive today. The versatility that Earl brings to his reads, combined with one of the more glorious voices with which an actor can be blessed, his success is richly deserved.

  • shelby on February 11th, 2012 - 8:27pm

I love his voice, especially when he speeks low. His voice sounds as if it perrrs. My cat Judah, when he perrrs, it’s the some tone. :)

  • Svarog on October 7th, 2012 - 10:36am

A well known WoW Narrator, this great man’s voice chills you as he tells you a short tale about all races in WoW as you begin the game.Best voice ever.

  • cAP. hADDOCK on April 18th, 2013 - 12:21pm

I love Edwin and Shakespeare:) I wish I could actually visit the Harlequin Dinner Theatre. I wonder if it’s a real place. And Regus is an AWESOME villain! He’s so cool.

  • Norma on May 31st, 2013 - 3:23pm

    Hi Earl.
We went to school together in Boise a few years back. I clipped an article about you from the BSU magazine in 1997 and found it today while cleaning out files so I decided I’d look you up. What fun to see all the great work you’ve done and to hear your wonderful voice. I’ve been a professor of music in Wisconsin for the past nearly 40 years and am hoping to retire back to Idaho. Congratulations on your fine career!

    TOTALLY!
You home school right? I do. Every year we do a homeschool convention during the summer. Next year I will be able to go! (you have to be at least 12) Anywho, I’m sure that you don’t really care about that.
I am listening to Isaak the Pure right now, it’s REALLY good!

    ILOVEAFRICA!

(are you going to have the Adventure in Odyssey club thing?)

  • naomi on October 31st, 2013 - 9:33am

Yes, I’ve homeschooled each year ‘cept kindergarten. Hey, we went to a homeschool conference one year! :D
It was interesting I guess, but it was too far away to go every year.
Hmm… My mom didn’t exactly like the idea of OAC, but I think once she sees it, she’ll change her mind. Yeah, if we’re allowed, we’ll go for it. How about you?

  • ANnie on November 1st, 2013 - 2:00pm

Yup, I made it into 3rd place in the ACTS contest so I get it for free :) but next year we probably won’t be able to afford it (unless I earn it myself )
I have been home schooled all my life! (every person in my family has been home schooled all there life’s) …. (except my mom and dad )

    ILOVEAFRICA!

  • naomi on November 2nd, 2013 - 2:07am

Hmmm I don’t know if this comment I just wrote got thru. Ill have to wait and see I guess! :D

  • naomi on November 4th, 2013 - 11:29am

Ok it didn’t go thru. But anyway, it just described what I look like,
    Anywho, ttyl, Annie!
And that’s soo cool that you get a year’s free subscription!!!

  • catholic 101 on November 5th, 2013 - 9:12am

    Great!
    What is this:
When some one (usually a reporter) asks questions. (hint: it starts with “i”)
When you like being with other people, you can be this. It starts with “S” (hint: often put with “shouting” and “out”)

  • TINYAUTHOR12 on November 6th, 2013 - 6:12pm

    @ Catholic 101: Me again.
    -Peace from the tie-dye chipmunk!

  • ANnie on November 12th, 2013 - 2:27pm

    @NAOMI
    WHERE ARE YOU????

    ILOVEAFRICA!

  • naomi on November 13th, 2013 - 4:07am

Im here Annie!!! Im so sorry i haven’t been able to get on lately!! I’ll try to get on more!!
Tiny Author and Catholic 101 are on here too. :)
    How’s it been going, Annie??
We have snow here now, and we’re already singing Christmas songs! :D Again, sorry i haven’t posted lately. i have been checking the blog, just not writing anything.

  • ANnie on November 14th, 2013 - 7:29am

Naomi, That’s AWESOME that it’s snowing there! I live in Arizona so… yeah, it doesn’t really snow here (It does in some places but not were I live) Although we are listening to X-mas music.
You were my first posting buddie, right? *sigh* good memories :)

    ILOVEAFRICA!

  • naomi on November 14th, 2013 - 8:50am

Hmm.. the first? I really am not sure! :D But if I remember correctly, yeah. So what’s it like in AZ? Do people have a southern accent or anything special about the place? Pardon my asking… :P

  • naomi on November 14th, 2013 - 1:36pm

Hmm..in case my comment didn’t go through, yes, i think i was at least one of your first posting buddies. :)
What’s it like in AZ? Do you get AIO on the radio regularly? We can’t here (obviously) and sometimes i wish Odyssey went more international. :D

  • ANnie on November 14th, 2013 - 4:53pm

    Naomi,
Arizona is really hot in the summer and AWESOME in the winter! Most people I see do not have southern accents and It’s REALLY pretty! You always see mountains in the distance and you’ll see things like hawks, vultures, and lizards regularly! What about you?
Also I do get AIO on the radio but usually I don’t listen to it. I come on here to listen to it or just listen to the ones I have.
    ILOVEAFRICA!

  • naomi on November 15th, 2013 - 9:09am

Wow, it sounds like a beautiful place allright! Minus the lizards. I never seen a very large one but they creep me out. :D Norway is very very mountanous and cold at the heart of the country. The further toward the coast you get, the warmer. There’s usually a foot or two of snow during winter where we live. During summer it’s very fresh and green; during winter everything is gray and it gets dark at 4 pm. Oh, and during summer, it never gets pitch dark. :D I like that.

  • ANnie on November 15th, 2013 - 9:47am

    Naomi
When I said “Most people I see do not have southern accents and It’s REALLY pretty!” It sounded kinda weird. I meant Arizona is really pretty not the people without southern accents

    ILOVEAFRICA!

  • naomi on November 15th, 2013 - 1:28pm

    Haha ok gotcha. :D

  • ANnie on November 15th, 2013 - 2:05pm

    Naomi,
We are having a B-day party for my lil’ sis tonight <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY! she is turning 4 and is SO exited.

    ILOVEAFRICA!

  • naomi on November 16th, 2013 - 6:53am

Hmm.. my paragraph about Norway didn’t go through again! Ok, well, Norway is really pretty too during summer. Winter is always gray and the sun hardly gets up but during summer it never gets dark.

  • naomi on November 16th, 2013 - 6:54am

And there’s lots of mountains!! :D

  • naomi 98 on November 16th, 2013 - 2:06pm

Hey, just so you know, Annie, I’m changing my username to Naomi 98 so people will know it’s me and not some other poster who’s name is the same. :D
    Poster? haha

  • naomi on November 18th, 2013 - 10:00am

Really? My birthday was on the 16th! Happy birthday to her too!

  • ANnie on November 19th, 2013 - 12:57pm

    @NAOMI
Hi. sorry I haven’t been on for a while. I’ve been pretty busy. Me and some of my best buds are putting on a play and we are the producers! we are actually going to do it and are having are first practice this Sunday! well it is kinda overwhelming to handle because we are doing every thing ourselves!

    ILOVEAfRICA!

  • ANnie on November 19th, 2013 - 1:00pm

    Naomi,
that is so cool/crazy that it is dark during the winter and light during the summer where you live. Is it hard to go to sleep during the summer? and do you have snow there? also what type of place do you live in? I live in the more city’ish but there are open desserts pretty close to us. :)

    ILOVEAFRICA!

(p.s. sorry for all the questions! )

  • naomi 98 on November 19th, 2013 - 3:15pm

Wow, a real play! Where? And did one of you write the script? I’m a bit busy too cuz i’m writing a script for a podcast. :D Exciting!

  • ANnie on November 19th, 2013 - 6:13pm

    Naomi,
We found the script and all the songs online (it’s Little Orphan Annie) And we will have a huge X-mas party where everybody’s family’s come over and way more people and we all have like a barbeque and preform the play in a made stage in my backyard (we have a huge backyard)

    ILOVEAFRICA!

  • ANnie on November 20th, 2013 - 1:10pm

    Naomi,
For some reason NOBODY will talk to me in the main podcast :( I keep on posting to people and nobody responds! (although they respond to other people) :'( :(

    ILOVEAFRICA!

  • naomi 98 on November 21st, 2013 - 7:48am

I’m still here! And i’ll answer whenever I can. :) I noticed that too; that’s why I like doing this one on one. It’s warmer :P
Are you in any of the clubs?

  • naomi 98 on November 21st, 2013 - 8:39am

And your play sounds fun! I wish i could be part of it. :) But I’ve only ever heard “Orphant Annie” as a poem. :D

  • ANnie on November 21st, 2013 - 9:45am

Clubs like the connie club? then no. Nobody would tell me how they worked until like 1 week ago and then they all kinda died down :3|

    ILOVEAFRICA!

  • Naomi 98 on November 22nd, 2013 - 10:09am

Yeah, they were gone pretty fast! :) I go to the Shona club just to chat with Flyingrider and Stormshadow kinda like I do with you on here. :D
I was just wondering, why do you love Africa? :D

  • ANnie on November 25th, 2013 - 10:01am

I love Africa because when I was 9 I got called to become a missionary to Africa! And ILOVEAFRICA!

  • Naomi 98 on November 26th, 2013 - 6:45am

Really? How do you know you were called there?

  • ANnie on November 26th, 2013 - 1:42pm

I have always wanted to be a missionary to Africa (every since I was like 5) And then when I was actually called by God to go I totally felt like I should go to Africa!

  • naomi 98 on November 27th, 2013 - 7:13am

That’s neat! Did anyone inspire you to become that? Ex. a relative, parents, etc. (Sorry for all the q’s, you don’t have to answer ;)
What are you doing for Thanksgiving?

  • ANnie on November 27th, 2013 - 10:33am

Actually I did get inspired from a lot of people! both of my grandma’s and one of my grandma’s are all part time missionary. but I got most inspired when we went to a missionary thing at our church and a guy was speaking there and he said that he was called to become a missionary when he was 6! that is actually were I got called (I mean at the missionary thing) and don’t worry. I really don’t care AT ALL for all the questions

    I[totally]LOVEAFRICA!!!

  • ANnie on November 27th, 2013 - 10:36am

For Thanksgiving we are going to my Grandma’s to have a huge lunch and some other people are going and then we are going to my cousins/best friends house to play a huge game of capture the flag in the park next to her house and have desert <3 <3 <3 What about you?

    ILOVEAFRICA!

  • naomi 98 on November 27th, 2013 - 11:37am

Wow, that’s awesome! What country was that missionary serving? And thanks, i really don’t mind either just so you know.
What did you think of the Avery Awards podcast? :D

  • ANnie on November 27th, 2013 - 2:39pm

I will be changing my ILOVEAFRICA! to I<3AFRICA! (if you look at the <3 sideways it is a heart)

    I<3AFRICA!

p.s.What made you want to change your name to Naomi 98? Is it just because you randomly thought of that number?

  • naomi 98 on November 28th, 2013 - 2:04am

Well, we’re having a classic Thanksgiving dinner. It’s not a national holiday here (although we do it anyway) but Christmas is really Norway’s Thanksgiving/time to be with family/birth of Jesus holiday. :D
Did you hear Prof. Miller on the Avery Awards? That was Kevin McCreary from the Ceiling Fan podcast! Soo cool cuz I’m writing a script with him for his podcast (it’s gonna be a Christmas Special) Do you listen/heard about the Ceiling Fan? ;D

  • naomi 98 on November 30th, 2013 - 2:42am

No, :) you see there was another Naomi and i thought i should add a number to mine so no one would mix it up. “98” is for my birth year. ;D

  • ANnie on December 3rd, 2013 - 5:32pm

AAAAAAH!!!!! ALMOST CHRISTMAS! my favorite time of year <3
"Deck the Halls with boughs of holly, Fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la!…." that is what we are doing right now (decorating I mean) :)

    I<3AFRICA&CHRISTMAS!

  • naomi 98 on December 5th, 2013 - 11:27am

I won’t be able to get on for a while Annie! It’s so busy! But I’ll get on when i can. :) ttyl

  • ANnie on December 6th, 2013 - 9:44am

    Oh, man :(
well I’ll just post anyway :)
Have you decorated for Christmas yet?
I have! (except we haven’t gotten a Christmas tee yet~we get real Christmas trees~) but we do have a HUGE pine tree in our front yard that we went to a store and got some big ornaments to hang on it and if I can climb to the top we might even put a star up there! :) :) :) we also got some small Christmas lights and hung them up in my room :) :) :) are you doing the Odyssey Advent Calender? I am! :) :) :)

    i<3africa!

  • Annie on December 24th, 2013 - 4:08pm

It’s Christmas eve! I can’t believe it’s already here. In 1 hour we are going to a Christmas eve service at our church. Me and some of the kids in our kids church are singing and doing motions to a X-mas song. (I am a leader in our kids church so I am also leading the song) I am pretty exited :) So what are you doing for Christmas? (by the time you look at this it will be after Christmas so I guess I should ask what are did you do for Christmas eve) After The service We are going to my…

  • Annie on December 24th, 2013 - 4:10pm

    … to my Grandma’s house.

    I<3AFRICA&CHRISTMAS!!!

  • Annie on January 6th, 2014 - 11:30am
