I saw in a behind the scenes video podcast that one (or maybe both) of the girls in the new family are dancers. that’s so awesome! I’ve taken dance lessons for a long time, and it’s so cool that a character in AIO dances now!

I think a big family should live in Odyssey sometime. I have 5 brothers and sisters, two brother-in-laws, a niece and nephew! It gets crazy sometimes, but fun at the same time.

Great podcast! And thank you for using my question about Eugene and Katrina having a baby. I understand why you can’t do that, but PLEASE try to figure out how to do that in future Odyssey episodes. By the way, does this mean that Bernard won’t be in Odyssey anymore? He’s one of my favorite characters besides Wooton and the Barclays. Oh, and thank you for going to give Eugene a haircut! He has needed one for a long time.

Eugene and Katrina should have a baby. Also Mitch and Connie should totally get married! but i think A LOT of changes have been going on around Odyssey. What does this Novacom stuff have to do with Jared again? This mystery is hard to follow. can someone please help me?

To Monica and everyone else who think Mitch and Connie should get married. It will never happen because Kathy Buchanan, the writer who created Mitch’s character, said that it would never happen. Also, Album 50 will be aired online and on the radio as a lead into Album 51 so for all of you that have not heard Album 50, start listening on Saturday, December 12, 2009 to hear the first episode of album 50.

I’ve listened to Adventures in Odyssey since 1989 when I was 18. I’ve enjoyed each “adventure” and love the lessons taught. I listened while driving in my car usually on my way home from church (years ago) and more recently (the past 13 years) on my way home from work. Now my kids enjoy listening when we are traveling too. After all these years, you’re still able to keep the attention of the younger generation…that says a lot about your ministry.

I agree with Allie and her point about having a bigger family in Odyssey, I’m the oldest of five also. When I heard the first Novacom episodes I got really mixed up. One of my friends had told me that Mitch proposes to Connie and She refuses saying He should go join the FBI and follow His dreams. My friend said that Mitch goes off to Budapest and He never comes back; not that He got murdered in the Novacom Sage. Could Someone clear this up for me? I’m totally confused!

I definitely agree with Paul McCusker about Eugene an Katrina having a baby. I didn’t realize it before, but it would REALLY change Eugene. It might be funny during the pregnancy (when Eugene finds out Katrina’s pregnant etc.), but everyone is forgetting that Eugene would have to raise the child too. He wouldn’t be able to frequent Whit’s End as much, and that child would also have to grow up. That will turn a kids show into a parenting show. I don’t think it’s the right thing to do…yet.

Blackaard came back 2 years later in album 25, Richard helped Eugene and Jason stop Dr. Blackaard, but Richard got hurt in the process and then of course Dr. Blackaard died in the tunnel explosion under Whit’s End. Richard recovered and left Odyssey to start his life over fresh, and that is the last time anyone has heard from him. Richard needs and has to come back because he came so close to becoming a Christian, but then he disappeared and the story was never…

i love odyssey, really i do, but I think Album 51 needs more work. i can appreciate having new characters, but i don’t think you sould take out the ones that have been in odyssey forever. here’s what i think:

2. the Straussburgs come back
3. Jason, Tasha, Mitch, and Monica come back
4. The Mulligans come back
5. Tom, Bernard, and Wooton come back.

I think that rodney rathbone should get a girlfriend,it would add alot to his character i think. I completly agree with the producers, if eugene and katrina did have a baby it would change eugene’s character alot. He probably would become less quirky, and become a more less entertaining character.

I think that if Eugene and Katrina have a baby, they should have unexpected boy/girl twins, and Eugene could freak out when he was told that he was the father of twins! Also, if he was a father, I picture him as trying to be helpful, but being clumsy and getting in the way all the time =D I think that would be funny =P Also, Connie is too immature to get married, I don’t think it would work =/ Thanks for the past video podcast! For those wondering about Liz’s hair, I asked that question a few months ago and the answer is that it was a goof–in the October ‘07 issue of Clubhouse magazine, she is designed with Aubrey Shephard’s original artwork, and Aubrey’s hair in that particular design is blonde. And Connie and Jason would be very entertaining, but he can’t really come back to Odyssey at this point.
Here’s a thought–what about Wooton and Grady’s mother? That would be hilarious.

Wow it looks like we have a lot of homeschoolers around! That is so cool! Braden, I had forgotten about the Shepherds! But yeah, I totally agree, there should be more homeschoolers. I mean look at us, we proved that there are many people who homeschool; why should it be radically different in Odyssey? Some places have more homeschoolers than others of course but in my opinion Odyssey should have more than one homeschooling family.

well, here’s the thing: for a long time, Eugene has been this central character for AIO, and everyone who knows a lot about AIO knows his personality. This personality is concrete in our minds. Before deciding whether to make a drastic change such as making Eugene into a father, the AIO team would need to give it some real thought. Whit left Odyssey because he was going on a dig in the middle east. Behind the scenes, Hal Smith aka the “first Whit” passed away. They found Paul McCusker to replace Whit. He comes back in Volume 27, The Search for Whit. I hope this helps you!

If us home-schoolers can write and say we want more home-schooled kids in Odyssey maybe they will add more families with kids that are home-schooled!

Abby, I don’t really know if they should make more homeschooled families. In “Potluck and Poetry”, Mrs. Sheppard’s mother says to the kids, “Do you like [being homeschooled] that?” and Aubrey says, “We get to do a lot of cool things” and Bethany says, “Yah, like take field trips to the zoo, and horse back riding, and big cinnamon rolls with frosting, and visit Whitsend.” None of the writers were homeschooled.

I’m home-schooled, too, which is a lot of fun. We can go a lot of places, too. Chrissie, you are so lucky to take horseback lessons, I want to, but I can’t!

We are homeschooled, we do take field trips to the zoo, we do not take horse-back riding lessons, however, and yes we occasionally do eat big cinnamon buns with frosting, and (obviously) we do NOT go to Whit’s End (Unfortunately). And while that does gloss up homeschooling quite a bit, I agree with Abby that they should make more homeschooled families, but they should actually find out what homeschool families actually do.

Well, I posted this before, but it disappeared so:
We have a homeschool group where we’re from, and we do stuff together too, field trips, track and field, science classes, skating classes. Just like ordinary go to schoolers, but we have a larger range of ages. For example, Kindergarten and Grade 8 in an art class. And it’s really great to be flexible too!
And I was the Emmy from Jan 4th

You know, though, I think Jason should marry Monica. She’s nice and she and Jason would be good together (of corse, Monica would get saved first!). Is there going to be no more Bart Wrathbone any more?

Yup! We have bookwork too, but atleast at our house, it’s really nice and we can do it basically any time in the day, and if we get behind, we’ll do it tomorrow! And it’s nice too, b/c if it’s snowing really nicely, and we don’t know what the weather is going to be like tomorrow, we can just go out and play, or go for a ski etc. And, yes, big families rock!

As far as schoolwork at my house, we really try to get it done every day but we are SO flexible in working around everything else. And if once in a while, something has to be dropped, like today, actually, then it’s fine.
Chrissie and Abbie: yeah, maybe they could have us homeschoolers help them if they decide to do more homeschoolers on the show!!! that would be sweet.

Yup. And Abbie, I’ve never gone to public school either. But they would really need to do some research. And that’s actually a really true and nice fact (especially for homeschoolers) that AIO could help clear up some ideas people have about us. Do you have a homeschool group where you’re from?

And another nice thing about homeschooling is that often you can be ahead of regular school people, and you don’t have to wait for your teacher if your done ahead of time!

And vacationing too. Sometimes if we want to go somewhere that’s really busy usually for a vacation, we’ll work really hard for a couple of weeks, and then go on a vacation while kids are still in school, and often those trips are even educational too. Geography, what smoke is made out of (this conversation was during camping :-))

Not to break anyone’s heart or anything, but AIO is about teaching people stuff from the Bible, not about homsechooling. I’m homeschooled, too, AND I have nine brothers (no sisters) and everyone I know (I go to public school for the music program) thinks Homeschooling is cool. I’d be okay if they have an opportunity to better teach a Bible lesson with homeschoolers, but other than that, there really isn’t a reason to have a whole episode about homschool =P

Abbie!!! We went to Disney World too! That’s mostly what I was talking about when I said vacationing! Just in the beginning of December! And yeah, it’s weird, everybody thinks homeschoolers are “anti-social”. But we’re not. Yeah, our homeschool group is REALLY big. I think my Mum said 82 families - YIKES, eh?! But, that homeschooling episode they were giving free, it was SO not what we do either. I mean, sometimes, we’ll do a part of that, but rarely. Homeschooling ROCKS!

Emma, I don’t really agree with you. For one thing, all of the old Odyssey kids aren’t going to be in any future episodes.

Just saw your posts Ryn. Yeah, I’d agree. The way it was with Audrey, yeah, she was a part of a LOT of episodes, but not in the same way I’m thinking. But we don’t want just another episode about homeschooling, (You Go to School Where?) (if you haven’t heard this and want to, you can go up to the browse by month thing, and then click on 2008, then December, and it’s the FREE episode) we want some permanent (well, least for a little while) residents. I totally agree with caroline and lydia.remember that odessey video? BABY DAZE, it was called. Eugene wanted to do an expriment about the develoment of the human brain. he need’s a baby to experiment on. one day a baby in a basket appears on the front step of Whit’s end.Dylan and connie can only laugh at Eugene’s silly atempts to childcare. in the end, Eugene realizes that human life is much more vaulabule than he,s been treating it. if they ever have kids, he needs to work on his fathering!!

Eugene and katrina shouldn’t foster care though, because Eugene was a foster child.

I think it would be a very touching scene when Eugene holds his baby for the first time

but the baby should not be super smart. There are enough brains in the Meltsner family already!!

I think that Eugene and Katrina should have a kids and homeschool them. I think that some should be smart and others not quite as smart but they learn to be a family anyway. They should find ways to teach each other.

Novacom is awesome…and I so want the chairman to come back…and have Regis to be working for someone worse than him, and that person(Im just going to call him Camden Aseltine)comes back, and is very angry at the death of Regis,so he comes up with a revenge plan,and have Whit,Jason,Mitch,Tasha(who is now a christian)and Richard Maxwell work on the case… thatd b awesome:)

And by the way, do you have any idea why you say Arkansas Ar-kan-saw rather than Ar - kansas. it’s spelled the same way as Kansas, except for the ar. Or why don’t you say Kan-saw, instead of Kan-sas?
