Awesome podcast!(One last thing)I cant wait to hear the last “clanging cymbals and the meaning of Gods love” episode! Sad that its coming to an end so soon, though.Anyway, thank you, Adventures in Odyssey creators, God bless all those reading this! Jared.

  • Gabriel on December 14th, 2011 - 2:41pm

Last podcast line I asked what color of eyes wooton has, it doesn’t say anywhere but if you look closely in the album 54 cover it looks like he has orange eyes. And also two pairs of cousins that I was thinking of was Alex Jefferson and Cal Jordon, and Bernard Walton And Eugene Meltsner. Adventures in Odyssey trivia question:
What is Oscar’s last name? And if you have not heard of him he is an older character. Look for the answer on the next podcast comment line! Odyssey’s 1* fan! 8)

  • regollin on December 14th, 2011 - 2:42pm

And the moment every girl has been waiting for… :P

  • kismint on December 14th, 2011 - 2:46pm

    Neat!
Thanks for answering the question about all the actors being Christians. I was wondering about that for a long time… It’s good that Odyssey can reach out to the actors and listeners alike.
By the way, I was wonderin’, there havn’t been any podcast interveiws for the guy who plays Buck, have there?

    God Bless,

Whoa, I just listened to an amazing song.

    No matter what
    Life pulls you through
    You got what it takes
    To make it through.
    And if I was you
I’d get on my knees and pray
Thank God in the morning for another day.

    These are the last words
I’m ever gonna get to say to
    You
    When everything falls away from
    You
    Take these words
And know the world is not worth leaving.

ME! :P He is kinda cute, all depends on what you are looking for. Awesome! He’s homeschooled like me. @Shinobu, i agree with you, 100% percent. Barrett’s voice has changed so much. But remember, Andy is getting older, same as Barrett. So his voice will change through out the years. @Regollin, i looked at his eyes and it is lazy. That’s called a lazy eye.

  • Adrian on December 15th, 2011 - 4:52pm

I really like Barrett! He is now my favorite all time character. I was so excited when I saw this and I am so glad that our internet was turned back on!

  • sERENA on December 16th, 2011 - 3:29pm

    Jill,?
Odyssey has changed sooo much; it’s not even fare to call it “Odyssey” any more. Whit ?and Katrina have changed sooo much that they don’t even RESEMBLE the old Whit or ?Katrina that we came to know and love. The interesting, funny, and sometimes ridicules, ?children we all came to know and love- Jared, Alex, Cal, Jimmy, Dona, Mandy, Trent, ?Lorenz, Robin, Jessie, Rodney, Aubrey, and Liz- have been completely wiped out and ?replaced with boring, and non-amusing correctors like…

  • sERENA on December 16th, 2011 - 3:29pm

Baret, Olive, Emily, Mathew, and Percale, etc. Also, Bernard, Tom, Jack, Joan, Bart, ?Doris, Harlow, Edwin, and Leonard etc. are all gone too! I think they need more adults, ?and a LOT MORE INTERESTING, FUNNY, AND SOMETIMES RIDICULES ?CHARACTERS THAT ACTUALLY HAVE PERSONALITY!!!!? (cry)

  • sERENA on December 16th, 2011 - 3:31pm

 is what I meent. Insted of (cry)

I just thought of something. Katrina has been on the show for a long time, but they have never interviewed her actress. :| I wonder why. Anyway, awesome podcast! :D

  • Believer on December 16th, 2011 - 4:45pm

@Jill— yes I totally agree… the old ones were more aplicable because they were about kids like us… I can’t relate to Olivia or Emily or even Barret or Mathew! Sorry AIO not to impressed with the life lessons part of it… the stories are ok though such as never for nothing and Un becoming Jay…

I’d have to say that the newer odyssey episodes have probably the same amount of life application as past ones; But they just haven’t been going as deep ,or something along those lines, as they use to. I’m not complaining though, I can understand with getting new characters, new writers, probably, and trying some new ideas it takes a while to get back to more of the odyssey were use to. All in all odyssey is still odyssey and I think that they’re starting to get back to what I’m use to. Go A.O.I.

    @Jill;

I agree; something has been missing ever since they reformatted and began the new storyline. They are getting better at it quality-wise (some of the first episodes were almost embarrassing), but that won’t fix the underlying thing that is missing….

Yesterday I went to are youth group’s Christmas dinner from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Each table ?had to make up there own Christmas carol using all of the items that were in the paper ?bags they handed out. In are bag there was a glove, crayons, a pocket knife, a Chick-fill-a ?coupon, and a key chain with a rubber ducky on it. This is what we got:?

? Duck the halls with bonds of chicken!?
Fa la la la la, la la la la.?
? Tis the season to where gloves!?
Fa la la la la, la la la la.?…

On Saturday I went to a ballet. It was an early Christmas present. But the funniest part ?was when Mother Ginger came out on the stage. A MAN in a PINK DRESS that stuck ?STRAIT OUT to the sides and was about TWENTY FEET FROM A CROSSED!! Then ?it fell strait down! He scooted sidewise along sidewise the stage then let about FOUR ?CHILDREN out of his SKIRT!! Then, dancing as best he could, he pulled out his HUGE, ?PINK, FEATHERY FAN!! And stared FANNING HIM SELF!!! I was soooo funny!!! ?:P ;) :P :D

  • Amy Lee on December 22nd, 2011 - 2:04pm

I was just listening to Reedeeming the Season, and I was really disappointed and insulted. In the story of St. Nicholas, you made it sound like all bishops we’re bad and didn’t care about God, and all they want is money and they get paid for their job. As a Catholic, I know that these things are false. Some bishops are going to vbe bad, of course, not everyone is perfect. Then, when Nicholas came back from the Holy Land he was ‘chosen’ to be bishop, when he wasn’t even a priest. Continued-

  • Amy Lee on December 22nd, 2011 - 2:11pm

    Comment continued-
The priesthood is not forced upon people, it is a calling from God. I felt like this whole episode was an attack on the Catholic Church, and even though you probably didn’t mean it that way, that’s what it felt like. Worse, it’s spreading false information, and I’m surprised that you would make an episode like this. Something else, nicholas said ‘now I’ll never be able to give up everything for Jesus,’ insinuating that priests don’t, when they actually do! Continued-

  • Amy Lee on December 22nd, 2011 - 2:15pm

I don’t know if it’s possible for you not to air this episode again, but if you just shelved it I would really appreciate it; I was very hurt by it’s assumptions and false facts. Amy.

You think he looks like Skander Keynes?? It’s weird, I know this one kid who is a friend of someone at my church & he looks almost EXACTLY like Keynes.
…Strange how people can look alike…

Speaking of actors, isn’t it so annoying when the actor you always thought was extremly cool turns out to NOT be a Christian. :(
    Makes me sad.

Oh, that’s cool about the different names for the days! I like that poem a lot (the short one). It’s sweet & simple. And very witty too.

Poems are fun to write, aren’t they?

  • Shinobu on December 24th, 2011 - 10:10pm

Oh…sorry, Shinobu: I meant to say (er, type) I have read “A Series of Unfortunate Events”. Serena asked if anyone had, and I have. Have you? Phaeton: Huh? Skandar? How does he remind you of Skandar? Oh, by the way, Shinobu, what question were you answering from Serena? I have no idea what that was supposed to mean? And yeah, I remember when my voice changed, too. Can you believe I used to sing soprano in choir?! Oh…AND MERRY CHRISTMAS (eve) TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!!!!

  • Jeremiah on December 24th, 2011 - 10:11pm

Oh…sorry Shinobu…that was me! AGAIN! Do you have any suggestions to help me STOP DOING THAT!

  • Shinobu on December 25th, 2011 - 11:21am

    Jeremiah-

I have read one Unfortunate Events book. I think it was the one about an elevator…or something like that. And yeah, FTU, I totally agree that Andy Pessoa looks a little like Skandar. Which is…okay. He’s not my favorite person on earth but… :)
Jeremiah(again)- I was answering her comment “In your last comment you said, “Exactly!! Sometimes I think that the AIO people do things just to make the fans scratch their heads and go ‘Huh?’” Could you maybe give me an exaple of a time you scratched your head and went “Huh?” :P
You sang soprano? Wow… I don’t think I ever was a soprano. Always had a deeper voice. :) Which came in handy at our church’s candlelight Christmas Eve service last night. We were singing acapella, and this guy who is like a bass started us off. We were in the right tune…just several octaves lower than most people liked. :)

well i think it would be totally awesome! one twin could be a totally girly girl who hates grows up to hate science and adores fashion and popularity. the other twin can be like Eugene and always and I mean always having a book in his/hand or always having his/her face in the book.

You’re welcome, Adrian. I read the Lord of the Rings a long time ago, but I don’t think I could ever be nerdy enough to learn Elvish. Now I will go on rants why Sonic X Project: Shadow really didn’t make sense(I watch that cartoon because of my brother–hence the name Manic), but I don’t speak Elvish. :) I strongly encourage you to read those books. Actually Manic I am not scared of how thick they are. I really challenge people to read something like that. It’s just the gruesome details in the context that my sister has told me about. Like someone’s head being split? Yuck! :( I frown upon that. And it’s just enough for me to know that they destroy the ring. I watched the fellowship of the ring with my brother and he yelled that night. :( That was unfortunate. We were staying at someone’s house when he did that. :( But it’s funny now

@ TaliaX177: I’m assuming you’re (at least) in highschool, so have you have taken any foreign language yet? I’ve heard you have to take two years of it to pass high school, and I’m already getting worried about it. I’m planning to take German? How about you? ;)

@Phaeton: Actually, I’m homeschooled and will be starting highschool next year (though I am old enough for it now). I’ve done a little Arabic, a little Spanish, and a little French, but I can’t speak a whole lot in any of those.

  • Taliax177 on February 5th, 2012 - 7:40am

@ Phaeton: Actually my younger sister can speak a lot of Spanish and more French than I can.

    Phaeton-
I would probably suggest a language that uses English sentence structure. Not like Spanish and probably nothing Asian. But something like Arabic, German, and French would probably be good. :P

I speak Spanish. Most sentences put the noun in front of the adjective. Like- Aki esta mi libro por la matamatics. In English that is- Here is my book for the math.

So something with Eglish sentence structure would be good. :P

  • Manic on February 6th, 2012 - 10:34am

    @Phaeton
Ack!! Two years of a different language to pass high school? I better get working! Does sign language count, I wonder? That would make things a little easier. :D

    @TaliaX117
Yeah, she has two younger sisters too, plus a brother who is a spaz. :D She’s the oldest child, so maybe that makes sense why she bosses me around so much… :) She would post on here, but her dad doesn’t really appreciate chat forums. And no, my name doesn’t not come from Manic Drive(what is that?) but Sonic Underground. I used to watch that show with my brother and my favorite character was Manic. He has some pretty awesome hair. :) So I chose that as my chat name.

  • taliax177 on February 8th, 2012 - 2:40pm

@Manic: OK, that’s where me and your friend hit a difference. My brother is only almost 10. :P Which makes me wonder if his energy levels will burst more as he gets older or start lessening… :P Yeah, I don’t think they’re named after the hedgehog… :P So do you like music? (It’s my obsession, so I can’t help asking.) :P

  • Manic on February 8th, 2012 - 6:35pm

@TaliaX117: eh, music and I have a love/hate relationship. Somedays I am totally on fire about it, and then others I just want to quit. I’ve been playing the piano for nearly nine years and I also play a little bit of the guitar. I have varied tastes in listening to music though. My older brother gave me two choices when we went on a trip together- ska or Mozart(I’ve said it before, we’re a really weird family). I chose ska. I tend to lean little on the hardcore side of music, but I love musicals and soundtracks. They make schoolwork a little more fun. Ummm, about the energy thing…it doesn’t get much better. My mom says that all of us kids just seem to get crazier as we get older(although in my defense, I believe I have toned it down a little bit :) )
Hey, is your name really Talia, or is that just your posting name? Either way, it’s pretty cool. I have this fascination with unique names…even though my name is one of the most common ones you’ll find in America.

    Chopsticks,
    Manic

  • taliax177 on February 9th, 2012 - 2:56pm

@Manic: I play the guitar a lot, but only for about three years so far. I would play the keyboard more, but I don’t have anything to play. Same thing with that trumpet I used to play at school. :P I love all kinds of music, but the primary three are rock, rap & hip hop, and classical. Diverse, I know. :P Oh, that sounds bad for my bro. :P Yeah, my name is Talia (pronounced like the Talia in AIO). Lemme guess, your name is John. :P Nearly everybody I know is called John. :P JK

  • Manic on February 10th, 2012 - 7:53am

    @TaliaX117
Actually, it’s not. Keep on guessing. :) It’s not as common as John, but still it’s pretty common. I played the guitar for about a year and a half, then I got more involved with the piano and had to quit. But I could probably pick it back up…gradually. :) My dad played the trumpet in high school. He pulls it out of storage sometimes and plays for us. The one thing he can play on the piano is Silent Night by ear. :D

    Chopsticks,
    Manic

  • taliax177 on February 14th, 2012 - 5:41pm

@Manic: Cody. :P I’ll have been playing the guitar for three years in May. :D I played the trumpet for two years in public school, I have practiced in two years, but still haven’t forgotten any fingerings for some reason… :P My mom can play the piano, and my dad wants to play the guitar, but his job and the work around the house takes up pretty much all of his time. :( So what’s some of the artists/bands you listen to?

Nope. But I like both of those names. :D You’ll probably never guess it(why are there so many common names? ) so I’ll give you a hint. Some of my friends try and call me Bob. I personally dislike the name Bob.

Well, I like Thousand Foot Krutch a ton. They’re probably my top favorite band. I also like Red and Skillet. But my family has different tastes than I do. @ Manic: I like the name Sonny! Anyway, I know a girl called Bob, but that’s no closer to her real name that apparently your’s is. I wish I had a conniving emoticon I could use. It’d fit me so perfectly. But I haven’t given up, Manic. I will guess your name one of these days! Btw, weren’t you the one talking about How To Train Your Dragon a while ago? If so, would you mind telling me what it’s about? It sounds interesting.
    Saruko Sasami

  • Manic on March 6th, 2012 - 4:07pm

    @Sasami(and Talia)

Bob totally can be a girls nickname. Weird, I know, but I live with it. Sorry if I gave the impression I was a guy. I’m a girl!(but a major tomboy–sometimes I think I’m more like a guy than a girl.) I think what got us on this conversation was me commenting on the complex infrastructure known as the female mind(sometimes I don’t even understand myself!) And that I have to keep reminding myself that my best friend is a girl because she is a total tomboy and can be pretty crazy. How to Train Your Dragon? I love that movie, especially the soundtrack. Hiccup, the misfit Viking, accidentally tames and learns how to fly the most dangerous species of dragon–the night fury! There isn’t that much rude humor(you have to listen pretty carefully to catch it), and it can be pretty hilarious at times. The dragons are all like cats! The only problem I had with it was that it seemed like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs made up all over again, only with Vikings instead of normal people. But hey! It’s a pretty funny movie!

    Chopsticks
    Manic(who is a girl!)

  • taliax177 on March 6th, 2012 - 7:52pm

  • Manic on March 8th, 2012 - 10:12am

    @Talia
Seriously? I must be the only one who doesn’t like it. Then again, I’m not to fond of nicknames anyway. The name suits the kid, though. :) Ahh!!! I have to go finish the Ranger’s Apprentice book 4 otherwise my bff is going to kill me!! :D :P

    Chopsticks,
    Manic

  • sasami on March 8th, 2012 - 4:38pm

@ Manic: YOU’RE A GIRL??? You so totally talk like a guy. No offense, I think it’s cool. I do adore dragons and I thought Hiccup was kinda cute. For an animated character. I might get my dad to check it out. He seemed to show interest in it. Anyway, where’d you get the “Chopsticks” thing from? It’s kinda cool.

  • mANIC on March 10th, 2012 - 4:40pm

    @Sasami
yeah, my friends say I sound different in text than I do in real life. I have a knack for sounding guyish–because I think more like a guy than a girl. Girls can be so crazy! :) Chopsticks comes from a missionary I know. He says that with one chopstick, it’s easily broken. But when you have two or three or more, it’s a whole lot harder. It’s just something me and my friends like to say to encourage each other.
So what’s your real name, if you’re allowed to share? :D

Exactly! I don’t understand the complex infrastructure known as the female mind at all. *sigh* such is the life of a girl. :D

    @Sasami
Actually both. I have plenty of brothers and boy cousins, so I grew up with lots of boys. I just naturally get along better with guys.
Question: your posting name sounds Japanese or Chinese. Are you? If so, that’s really cool! I’m native American. :)

@ Manic: Right on the first guess. Yeah, I’m Phaeton. I use a lot of different names on here. And in answer to the nationality question, I’m part Asian. I adore Japanese names, which Sasami is. I made up Saruko, and my brother will probably shoot it down as “unauthentic.” ;) Native American sounds cool too! :) So, would you classify yourself as a tomboy? And I’m guessing your name is probably something like Elisabeth, Emily, Erin, or Elana. Am I close? ;)

Yup! You’re super close! But like you, I like to keep my identity secret(hee hee hee :) )so you can keep on guessing, but I’m not gonna give anymore hints. :D And yeah, I am definitely a tomboy. We have to go shopping for spring clothes today. Ick. Give me basketball shorts and a few t-shirts and I’ll live, people! I don’t need tons of clothes(my mom doesn’t agree with me.)
And I’m not a full blood, but I am Native. Cool, huh?

@ Manic: Aw, no more hints? ;) You should have seen the list of names the others went through to guess mine! It was pretty funny. They were about 1/100 of an inch from the right one. It is cool to be Native. That’s like, wicked cool! So, I’m guessing you have dark hair and eyes? I do, from my mom. My dad was a blond when he was younger, but it didn’t pass on. I actually like having a lot of clothes, but that’s because I like to mix and match. I like skirts, too. :)

  • Manic on March 15th, 2012 - 9:48am

    @Sasami
Yeah, my hair and eyes are fairly dark. What’s funny is my cousin, who is partly Native as well, has German ancestors on her dads side(like extreme German–their last name is super hard to say!) so she’s as blond as they come! :D

@ Manic: Haha, that’s funny about your cousin! ;) I always had this interest in Europe, particularly Germany. I want to take German as my foreign for high school, but I’ll probably end up taking some kind of Chinese. Bleugh! :P I think my dad’s side of the family tended to be blond (cause some of my cousins are light-haired) but all of my immediate family are dark. I like that, though. After all, some of my favorite actors have dark hair! ;)

ummm, I like playing soccer, but I take dance lessons as well(not girly dance–heavens no!) I love reading, although I’m partially dyslexic, and watching movies is an all time fave. Do you have a favorite actor? I like movies with Max Theriot(I think that’s his name) in them. I want to read the Hunger Games someday, but I’ve got a big list of books I wanna read and it’s pretty low on the list. Oh well. :)

@ Manic: One of my fav actors is Liv Tyler. Another is Miranda Otto and Karl Urban, but I’ve only seen them in LOTR. I’ve rarely seen an actor I really like in more than one movie. :( I’m in love with reading. I will read anything that’s novelized. I used to take dance lessons, but I’m more interested in learning to play tambourine. There’s this one book, I think similar to THG, called Divergent, by Veronica Roth. I really want to read that one, cause the author is a Christian. :)

Gasp! That’s crazy, cos that book is on my list too! One of my friends has read it, and I think it’s pretty good. The sequel comes out pretty soon, I think. Have you read any books by Scott Westerfeld? It’s an awesome!!!!! series. :) I don’t know if I’ve seen any of those actors in movies other than LOTR either.

@ Manic: Oh, cool! THERE’S A SEQUEL! YAY! I was telling my brother yesterday I hoped there’d be one, but I didn’t know it was true! :) I kinda recognize Scott Westerfeld, but no, I don’t think I’ve read his stuff. What has he written? I may recognize it. I usually don’t pay much attention to authors and there’s so much stuff! :)

Um, he wrote a trilogy that’s one of my personal favorites: Leviathan, Behemoth, and Goliath. I think I saw someone talking about it on an older podcast so I know I’m not the only person who loves this author. He’s not a Christian unfortunately, so some of his books are a little strange, but those three I mentioned are awesome! I’m actually starting to work for a magazine(I review books) so I’m going to read Divergent and review it!

    Chopsticks,

  • sasami on March 23rd, 2012 - 6:01pm

@ Manic: Oh, man, I’d love to review books too! I’m thinking of getting a summer job once I’m out of school. Come to think of it, those books are familiar. Can’t recall where I’ve seen them, but they definitely ring a bell. Yeah, it’s maddening when good authors aren’t Christians. I really like Terry Brooks and his Shannara stuff, but he ain’t Christian. *sigh* I’m going to write good, Christian books when I grow up. In fact, I can do it now! :)

    Welcome back! How’s life?

    @Sasami
I love my job. The only problem with it(and it’s not that big of a deal to me)is that I work for free. Just for a byline. :) When I turn sixteen this summer I’m thinking about getting a job at a local bookstore that I LOVE!!!
Sometimes, I like non-Christian books with good morals better than the real thing, because half the time, Christian authors sugar coat everything. It drives me crazy. :)

    Chopsticks,
    Manic

  • sasami on March 28th, 2012 - 4:28pm

@ Manic: Sounds like you’re going to have a good summer! :) I think it has to do with the author. I’d rather read a good book by a secular author than a cheesy one by a “Christian” one. Of course, it all depends on what that secular author may be promoting. It does drive me crazy when they sugarcoat it. I don’t believe in sugarcoating much. Just out and say it! And sometimes Christian authors are just as weird as secular ones. Oh, pulleeeeeze! ;)

  • mANIC on March 30th, 2012 - 2:20pm

    @Sasami

yeah, I read the Landon Snow books(which are reportedly Christian)– there were mentions of the Bible and Christians, but the books were many like a Christian version of Alice in Wonderland. Confusing books. :) Sugarcoating is against the Bible in my opinion. Jesus didn’t sugarcoat stuff. God doesn’t sugarcoat stuff. I mean, come on people, Jesus died on a cross! How can you read about that, and spread the same message in a lukewarm way?

Aww, what kind of puppy is it?(I’m a sucker for dogs) I understand about not having any free time to yourself. It’s tough. :) But you’ll get through it. Just wait until a few weeks are past. You’ll be begging your mom for chores coz you’re so bored. :) I freaked my mom out by doing that. She thought I was sick. :D

Ack!! My brother officially has a girlfriend…my brain just went into overdrive! In our family of guys…we’re going to have another girl?

Has anyone read the Artemis Fowl books? I just got hooked on them. They are amazing! If you like Sherlock Holmes and fairies combined, you’ll love these. :)

    @Sasami

I want to see that movie!! Right now on my list to see is Eragon(I love the books, but I don’t the movie is as good), the Hobbit(counting down the days!), and Around the world in 80 days(old version, without Jackie Chan in it). I’ve seen that last one before, like when I was ten. My little sister just had to read the book for school, so I thought it would be fun to watch it together. :D
I think there’s a movie coming out for Artemis Fowl too. I cannot wait!!!

@ Manic: Good point about the lukewarm thing. And doesn’t God say in Revelation that He will spew the lukewarm church of Laodicea out of His mouth?
Whoa, how old is your brother? Upper teens, I’m guessing. So’s mine. :) I’ve heard of Artemis Fowl, it definitely rings a bell. And I love Sherlock Holmes and fairies! I read the Hounds of the Baskervilles one night and got freaked out! :) PANDEMONIUM!

@Manic: We don’t know what kinda dog he is. Someone from my dad’s workplace found 4 abandoned puppies in the National Forest and my dad brought one home. He’s going to be huge, though. The estimate is that he’s about 4 months old now and he’s got really really big feet and he’s really long. Yeah, I started praying about my freetime loss ( :P ) and I actually worked it out. Jesus really helped me! :D
*gasp* You read Artemis Fowl?! :o I attempted to read those and my mom wouldn’t let me because…

yeah, my pastor actually talked about that passage in church one week. It’s called spiritual apathy. Even Jesus said, if you’re not 100% with me, you’re against me. When will people get a clue.
He’s turning twenty-one this August. I actually knew it was coming, he’d asked me to pray for him in his desicion making. I like her, I’ve known her all my life. Just, thinking about her as his girlfriend

will take some time to get used to. :D He’s a great brother. He rescues me from my crazy siblings. :)
My best friend loves the Hound of the Baskervilles! My brother does too. Actually, he was watching the movie for it with a friend of his(not his girlfriend, but another really close family friend) and in this one tense scene, she was all keyed up–and he shouted BOO!! at the top of his lungs. :) She hit him with a pillow. After she screamed of course. :D

Parts of them are okay, other parts I have problems with. I read them for my job(which is to review books for Christian girls) so I could know what they were about. I don’t appreciate the language and some of the humor in them, but other than that I liked them. I think your mother is very wise in not letting you read them. Parents have different standards for their kids reading. My parents let me read most anything as long as I use my judgement on what is appropriate and what is

really wrong. If I read part of a book and its inappropriate or I have questions about it, I usually don’t finish it. I liked the Artemis Fowl series, because although there is some serious problems with parts of the books, there are some good messages as well. To each their own.

Wow. I did a whole post with a emoticon. That’s impressive.

@ Manic: Ooo, I kinda want to reach Eragon too, but my parents said no. Bummer. But, I trust their judgment. Bleugh, Jackie Chan is kinda gross. Though, he did this hilarious cartoon about himself that I’m enjoying right now! No, it’s not you, it’s me. I typed my name wrong! AW! So, I assume he isn’t a crazy sibling? Lol, I’m gonna have fun teasing my older bro when he gets a girl. I’ve actually been doing it for a while, but I decided to stop because Eric Ludy says we should build up guys with our words, not tear them down. Which I tend to do. I’m a cynical person. :( Haha, your brother sounds like a lot of fun! Give his girlfriend my best wishes on getting him! Lol, ;) Hey, my bro’s bday is in August too! Imagine that! :)

Gotcha. My mom wouldn’t have let me read Artemis Fowl when I was 10 either. I was too impressionable then. My brother(Who sort of encouraged me to read them) didn’t get hooked until he was like nineteen. But now that I’m older and know a little more about what I should let effect me what I should ignore and shut out, reading options are a little more open. I know, it’s crazy how little time you have to read when you get older. Monday I barely read anything!

I never really teased my brother about girls. He sure does love his computer games. :D He also likes to wrestle with me. I never know when he’s going to pin me to the ground and tickle me. You know another actor I really can’t stand? Johnny Depp. He ruins all sorts of movies except for maybe the first Pirates movie. It bugs me when people take a good book(like Alice in Wonderland or Charlie and the Chocolate factory) and have him play a major character. Urgh! Deep cleansing breaths… :D

@ Manic: You know, maybe you shouldn’t have mentioned that thing about teasing. Man, I just teased Kenzi about liking Regollin. And I once dared Roa that I would be able to make myself have a crush on him. I know, I’m weird. Ooooooooo, I love tickling! I used to tickle my brother, until he made me stop. It was great fun. I’m the most ticklish person in my family, but hardly anyone tickles me. :( Man, I have to guard my computer screen at all times. I never know when he’ll sneak up for a peak. It drives me insane! But I love him. He’s cool. Like, really cool. He’d be the first to say no, but I’m sticking up for him, even when he won’t do it himself.
Oh, man, I so totally know what you mean about Johnny Depp! I feel the same way. I heard they were going to have him play Puddleglum in the Silver Chair. SAVE ME! Jack Lewis must be rolling over in his grave. I would be! BTW, I discovered something interesting: Andy Pessoa, on who’s blessed podcast we are posting, does the voice of this a main character off a Transformers cartoon I’m watching. It was so funny when I first recognized his name. I was like, THAT’S ANDY PESSOA! So I raced into the kitchen and blurted it out to my brother, and he was like, who? BARRETT JONES! It was funny. I’m really good at catching names as the credits roll. I’ll never forget the thrill that through me when I first read the names Georgie Henley and Skandar Keynes. It was weird, like I first realized that they are real people like me. BUT SO COOL! :)

Seriously? Puddleglum is like my favorite character in SC. I hope they don’t do it. That would be awful.

@Sasami: Yeah. My problem is that I’ve never actually had a friend outside of family so I wanna know what it’s like! At school (when I went to public) everyone based your “value” off how many cell phones you had and how many cuss words you knew, so I never really fit into that group…

  • Manic on April 30th, 2012 - 2:24pm

Sorry, I went on a trip with family and didn’t have access to the computer. I’m still alive though! :D

Music. Have you ever heard of the band Apologetix, Talia? They take mainstream popular songs and make hilarious Christian remakes of them. Those songs are jam packed with scripture–and the bonus is that when you hear the real versions like when you’re at a store or something, you can sing the Christian words. :)

@ Talia: I don’t tend to make friends easily (I’m too weird!), so I can totally identify with that. I tend to look for people who don’t fit into the popular groups. I’m a loner. I just finished Roadside Assistance, sort of a Christian teen romance. I don’t usually do romance, but this one I enjoyed because it wasn’t total sugar sweet stuff.
Oh and I read part of Divergent. It was…okay. I liked it up until it was nearing the end. I definitely would not recommend it to younger teens. Like, I wouldn’t let my thirteen year old sister read it. Not until she’s a lot older.

I haven’t hurt anything *yet*, but I’m being as careful as I can. Oooo, I love singing! I don’t have that good a voice (in my opinion), but I like to, so I do it! yeah. It was kinda ironic, because I only get to see him every so often, so we were together a lot…and he shares his lovely germs with me. Thanks, dude. :) I think the author for Roadside Assistance is Amy Clipston, or something like that. If you wanna read a good book, check out A Name Like Love, by Tess Hilmo. AMAZING book. The title had me thinking it was a romance. It is so not. Thank goodness. :P
There was a little too much kissing going on for me to enjoy Divergent(there’s more, but I’m not going to mention it on here. :/ ) Ummm, I’d say wait until you’re at least 14 and a half, or older–or ask your parent to read it before you to see if it’s appropriate. I’m turning sixteen and I wasn’t comfortable with some of the stuff going on. And I read it for both my job and on the side, just to see if the ravings I’d heard were true. :D But I’d definitely say wait. I’m trying to think of a good book that’s similar to this one that you might enjoy…gimme a coupla days.

KISSING? Okay, just who is doing the kissing? In a dystopian society, who has time for romance? Hmm, I’ll think I’ll wait for that. I’m only fourteen, after all. Dude, I wanted to read Terry Brooks (who wrote the awesome Sword of Shannara!), but I’ve decided to wait. Same with the new Star Wars stuff. I’m too young and impressionable at this age. :)

My piano teacher says that sarcasm isn’t a flaw, it’s a character quality. :P I forgave him for getting me sick…just as long as he doesn’t do it again!

Still tryin’ to think of that good book…have you read any of Lloyd Alexanders stuff? He’s good. :D

    Chopsticks,

@Sasami: Oh. :o I write things about daily life. I’d post something, but I don’t want someone else to use it. :P I have one called “Did You Pray Today?” that’s still in construction along with about 50 million others. :P I think it’s the Holy Spirit. Sometimes I’ll be doing math homework or reading a book or something that has nothing to do with writing lyrics, and a great verse of song will come into my head. It’s really neat, and I really feel close to God when it happens to me… ;)

omg hes so cute like zack calliosn

  • sasami on May 16th, 2012 - 3:49pm

@ Manic: AHA! I KNEW IT! I spent yesterday in suspense, wondering if it really was you. (thanks to the moderators, your comment was not posted until today) :) I can’t believe it took me this long! Dude, when I first read your comment, I was like, why is she talking to Helyn??? And then it hit all of a sudden, and I just about died. So, Micheal is the one with a girlfriend? :)
Tris? As in Beatrice Prior? Doesn’t she have a brother or something? :)

Lloyd Alexander? Hmm, I can’t say that I have. What type of stuff does he write? ;)

    Saruko Sasami

  • sasami on May 16th, 2012 - 3:52pm

@ Talia: Yeah, I’m afraid of posting my stuff for the same reason. By nature, I’m a very private person (I hate it when my bro keeps peeking over my shoulder at the monitor!), so I tend to hold everything in.

    Most of the time. ;)

I know what you mean, about stuff just popping into your head. Wow, it’s like God’s inspiring you to write stuff. That’s so awesome. I mean, it’s really awesome. :)

    Saruko Sasami

P.S. Total change of conversation: do you still like Orlando Bloom? ;)

    S. S. (Arashikage)

  • Manic on May 17th, 2012 - 5:55pm

    @Sasami
lol I thought you’d never guess. And yes, Michael and his girlfriend are doing great…still getting used to it though. :D I’m glad the moderators were doing their best to keep you in suspense.
Oh, I love old John Wayne movies. They have some of the best lines. :P
Lloyd Alexander writes fantasy. His books are pretty clean. I love the Marvelous MisAdventures of Sebastian. He died recently. :(
Oh, and his Vesper Holly books are a little repetitive, but pretty awesome.

    Chopsticks,

  • taliax177 on May 18th, 2012 - 12:00pm

@Sasami: Yeah, that’s why I think I’m called to an occupation in music in the future. :) Man, I’ve totally forgotten about Bloom. :P I don’t really get crushes often, especially since I hardly ever watch TV. I do things like this instead. And I’m on Lego.com which is pretty fun, too. :)

  • sasami on May 21st, 2012 - 6:37pm

@ Manic: You sly ninja! It’s funny, tho, I kind of knew all along that you and Ely are the same. It’s hard to hide….you. ;)
Vesper Holly? That sounds kinda familiar. Have you ever read “The City of Ember” by Jean Deprau? (i hope I spelled that right!) I absolutely love the movie, and I’m dying to read the book. :)
Speaking of books, I finished my second on Thursday. It’s actually the fifth in a series, but the second book I’ve written to completion.

@ Talia: Totally forgotten him? Hmm, that crush mustn’t have been very serious. I’ve let go of my guy like permamently. Just decided I didn’t need to hold onto him anymore. But I’m okay now. :D
My entire social networking is practically tied up in this site! I spend a ton of time on here, and I have multiple conversations going all the time. Keeps life interesting. :P
Dude, I wish I could go to Lego.com! I used to, but I don’t anymore. I wanna talk to Roa on there! You remember when we were talking about crushes and Roa dared me to have one on him? :P
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on May 25th, 2012 - 6:48am

@Sasami: Well, I had a crush on him for a while when I was 13, but that was about a year ago. :| I don’t really get crushes, anyway. ;) I’m here and Lego.com (where I post my drawings). That was you? I remember that incident, but you weren’t as Sasami… :?

  • sasami on May 25th, 2012 - 3:10pm

@ Talia: Yeah, I don’t get crushes either, anymore. Kinda takes the excitement out of life, but then there’s other stuff I can think about. :P You post drawings on Lego.com? Cool! I so wish I could go there and see’em. Isn’t that how you and Roa met? On Lego.com?
Yeah, it was me. I’m FTU and Phaeton, you remember. Only then, I hadn’t made up Sasami, so yeah, I wasn’t “her”. In that completely loony way of looking at things. :)
“And then things just got worse. Or better, depending on how you look at it!”

  • taliax177 on May 31st, 2012 - 6:32am

@Sasami: Yes, I post my Adobe Flash drawings on there! :D And people ask me to draw them, so I do. ;) Why can’t you go there? Not enough time or something? Yeah, Rocko and i met there almost three years ago. :) Nice memories…

  • sasami on May 31st, 2012 - 2:53pm

@ Talia: Whoa, you could almost make a living if you could get people to pay for them. I have a friend who does that. Um, I have limitations on where I go on the internet. I went on there too much when I was younger, so now my dad’s like “Uh-uh, attend to your studies.” Speaking of which, I really need to start school. Still doing those proofs designed by evil trolls in Hades. But my bro helps me, so it’s not so hard. :)
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on June 4th, 2012 - 6:47am

@Sasami: Ah, maybe you could get permission for when school’s out only? I have limitations, too, but I control how often I get on. ;) In math I’m just doing statitistics and probabilities and graphs, etc… I wish I had an older sibling to help me sometimes. I’m the oldest, so I’m usually the one helping. :P

  • sasami on June 4th, 2012 - 7:41pm

@ Talia: Hmm, prob not. It’s not really worth all the trouble I’ll go through trying to get access to it. :D
Dude, I wish I was doing what you’re doing! It would be so much more fun than just these awful proofs. Now they want me to do indirect proofs. As if direct ones weren’t hard enough! But my bro will help me…I think. :P It all depends on whether *he’s* finished his stuff. I usually don’t help my younger sibs, but occasionally I”ll “offer a hand”. Everyday’s an adventure, that’s for sure. :)

Sorry, Manic and Sasami. That was my mini-outburst for the day.

Agreed, you probably could. I probably could! My only request is if it has to be some yucky actor, pick Jackie Chan! At least he’s funny (unlike our favorite disgusto pirate friend)

  • taliax177 on June 7th, 2012 - 5:49am

@Sasami: OK. :P Yeah, I’m doing graphs, histograms, permutations, and statistics basically. Are you homeschooled? I am. I actually get to watch my teacher teach on the computer (only it’s not video chat or anything, most of mine are actually from years ago :P ). I help my brother and sisters when they need someone to give their opinion on a paper or poem or something. ;) My days are pretty much the same. Sometimes I feel like I’m repeating the same day over again. (Like the Eternal B-day.)

  • diamondseed on June 7th, 2012 - 8:55pm

Hi Jeremiah, why don’t you like Jhonny Depp? He is ok. :) And he is famous too but i don’t really like his movies but he is ok in my opinion. But do you hate him alot?

  • sasami on June 11th, 2012 - 5:49pm

@ Talia: Dude, I wish I could. I so want to look at the Lego star wars stuff again. They had some hilarious videos! And there was one thing called Exo-Force. I loved it. But I can’t look at it. BWAAAAAAAAAHHH!
Yup, I’m homeschooled. Or more like, me-schooled. My mom doesn’t help me cause I’m a big girl now, which is why I bug my bro all the time. :D What curriculum do you use? I’ve used Accelerated Christian Education for all my time homeschooling (which has been my whole life ;) ).
It’s funny, my older sibs are the ones who ask my advice! My sister did this hilarious essay about “the tattle-tale”, which pretty much describes my younger siblings! :D She read it aloud to us older kids and we just about died.
Dude, I know the monotonous feeling. Sometimes I feel like I’m getting nowhere. I’m just stuck in a rut, and then I see my public-schooled friends go places and do stuff and make money and I’m like, “Am I missing something?” I don’t know. Life’s confusing. But I’ve learned to just take it one day at a time.

  • taliax177 on June 20th, 2012 - 2:22pm

@Sasami: I use Bob Jones University as of this year. I went to public school from grades 1-5, though. Oh, Exo-Force was closed a LONG time ago. Lego comes up with another theme like every year and closes another like every year. Well, now I’m outta school! YES! :D   Well, I still have Math to do, but my mom said I could take 2 wks off and then finish it. Yeah, in my Bible curriculum, I learned a lot about how all the unbelievers seem to get what we Christians deserve, but I’ve…..

  • taliax177 on June 20th, 2012 - 2:24pm

@Sasami: really started prayin seriously and Christ truly has solved all my problems! I feel like the happiest person in the world sometimes… :D So, how’s your weight training or rather exercising goin? I don’t even need to lift weights for a while cuz my dad has me help him put new siding on our house. (Which is a lotta work. :P Especially when it’s so hot!!)

  • sasami on June 20th, 2012 - 9:46pm

@ Talia: NO!!! NOT EXO-FORCE!!! I would start weeping and gnashing my teeth if I wasn’t in a euphoric mood from reading City of Ember. Dude, I am disappointed. I loved Exo-Force. All my older sis’s did. We each have our favorite guy…

Dude, I still have Math too! Horrid geometry. We had vacation last week cause relatives were visiting, but I’ll probably have to start up again next week. *sigh* These things just get worse the older you get. And after school you have to work! There’ll be no relief to this rat-race of life until death. I know, that’s pessimistic. But sometimes, life just seems a whole lot bigger than I like to imagine. :?

It’s funny, (in a rather ironic way), when I was younger, I was really shy and afraid of life. But then, that seemed to make surprises and adventures and exciting movies all the more…well…exciting. Now that I’ve conquered my shyness…nothing matters. I feel a little bit like that line out of Rocketown by M.W.S. “When I reach down inside, I can feel the emptiness” It’s like some part of me…died. But then I listen to my dad talk about Christ, and walking with God, and life seems rejuvenated once more. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me. I think I may be low on hormones or something. But…life seems dull without God.

I  actually have stopped exercising… I found out that I stayed just as flexible without exercising as when I did it. So I stopped. I actually have pretty big biceps for having never worked out. I have bigger ones that my older bro! But I have a deep confession to make: I hate outdoor work. I like house-keeping much better. I dislike heat, bugs, sweat…everything about outdoors (not to mention all the germs!!!) But, I’m sure I need to go outside more often. After all, a balance of everything. :D

    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on June 22nd, 2012 - 10:19am

@Sasami: Awww… Man, that’s too bad! Exercising isn’t just about staying flexible, though. It’s about keeping your body fit to be a temple of God. That’s why I do it. Well, and the fact that it keeps me feeling GREAT! :D That’s hilarious. :P I’d rather be outside than inside. :P People say I’m like my dad in hobbies, though, and we both love camping and hard labor outside. :P ;) I prefer not to sweat, but when I do, I feel refreshed like all the fluids my body’s been storin are being released.

  • sasami on June 22nd, 2012 - 3:21pm

@ Talia: Hmm, I see what you mean. Sometimes I feel simply awful physically speaking. No clue why. My mom suggested changes in the geometric pressure (is that the right phrase?) Since I moved some months ago, I think I’m still adjusting to the climate up here. I’m not exactly what you would classify as a sickly child, but I’ve had more than my share of bodily ailments. :( I have like, one and a half shares. ;) Neway, I do like camping. Some. And I like riding four-wheelers, and bicycling, and roller-blading, but not anything, like, work-related! I’m a lazy bone. I haven’t done any school-work today, and it’s like almost 2;30.
I know what you mean about sweating. Sometimes it just feels soooooooo good to let out all the steam. :D
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on June 26th, 2012 - 10:46am

@Sasami: I have no idea what geometric pressure is. Oh, well, you didn’t tell me you just moved! During that you probably don’t even have time for exercise. (Unless you count putting things where they belong. :P ) Hhmm, that’s weird. Ever since we started homeschooling, my family almost never has a sick individual. I have a bike and I love riding it, but I don’t have anywhere to ride it. :| But here’s something I just tried today. I was looking in my dad’s Bruce Lee books, see, and I found

  • taliax177 on June 26th, 2012 - 10:51am

@Sasami: a workout. It’s not very long. (I did it and I’d say it was probably about 15 min.) So, having that said, a short workout sounds like it probably wouldn’t do much good, but after I was finished, boy, was I sore! It’s a really great workout! :D Do you wanna try it?

  • sasami on June 27th, 2012 - 6:35pm

@ Talia: I’m not sure what geometric pressure is, either, but I think it has to do with air pressure and clouds and stuff like that. Why they call it geometric is beyond me. :?
Actually, I got a nice bit of exercise during moving (mostly lugging heavy boxes and stuff around). I think I’m a little above average for my age in terms of strength (I once beat P8HL in arm-wrestling, and she’s older and supposedly stronger than me), but I do need to work out. Like Frodo, I am “a little flabby”.
Dude, I wish none of us got sick! Diseases sweep through our house like wild-fire. The only reason I haven’t gotten seriously sick for the past year is because I practically avoided the “quarantined”.
I love bike-riding, but I outgrew my old one that we sold before moving, so I haven’t done any riding for about…two years. But I want to. Unfortunately, I haven’t anywhere to ride it either. :(
YES!!! I’d love to try the work-out. I have plenty of time on my hands, so lenght of time is not an issue. Bring it on!!! :D

  • taliax177 on June 28th, 2012 - 10:00am

I’m gonna drop the “@Sasami” here cuz we’re the only ones talking and to save room for more words. ;) OK, the exercises for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are:

    2.Forward Bend
    3.Cat Stretch
    4.Jumping Jack

    2.Palm up curl
    3.Roman Chair (a sit-up basically)
    4.Knee Drawing
    5.Side Bend
    6.Palm down curl

I was unfamiliar with most of these exercises myself, so if there’s any that need explaining let me know. (I looked em up.) :)

  • taliax177 on June 28th, 2012 - 10:01am

Oh, and for ALL of those exercises you are supposed to do as many repitions as you can in only 1 min. So in all it should only take 12 minutes, but I round it to about 15 min. Hope it helps! :D

  • taliax177 on June 28th, 2012 - 10:03am

    For Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays:

    Warm-up
    1.Groin Stretch
    2.Side leg raise
    3.Jumping squat
    4.Shoulder circling

    Forearm/Waist

4.Leverage bar twist (I’ve been skipping that one, but it’s still good)
    5.Alternate leg raise
    6.Wrist roller

Same duration and repitions with this set as with the other exercises. ;)

  • sasami on June 28th, 2012 - 3:49pm

Yeah, I think I’ll drop it too. :D
Wow, that’s a lot. Thanks a ton. I’m always a little wandering whenever I go to exercise, so I tend to leave stuff out and go all over the place. This will really help. :D So, all that was the Bruce Lee book?
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on June 29th, 2012 - 5:37am

And remember, these are supplementary workouts. They shouldn’t be your only workout. :)

  • taliax177 on June 30th, 2012 - 6:48am

It’s a lotta exercises, but you only do as many repititions as you can in one minute. ;) And this is just what you would use to warm-up before a workout and then cool-down after the workout. I’m just suggesting that you do these supplementary things every day at first and sorta ease into the full workout. Here’s my weight lifting schedule if you wanna try it :) :

Mon. Chest and Back- benchpress(2 sets), dumbell flies(2 sets), deadlift(2 sets), back extensions(2 sets), sit-ups (3 sets)

  • taliax177 on June 30th, 2012 - 6:53am

    Tues. Abs- sit-ups(3 sets)
Wed. Legs and Abs- squats (weighted or unweighted; 2 sets), leg extensions(2 sets), leg curl(2 sets), sit-ups(3 sets)
    Thurs. Abs- sit-ups(3 sets)
Fri. Arms and Shoulders- regular curls(2 sets), reverse curls(2 sets), tricep press down (2 sets), dips (2 sets), military press(2 sets), chest rows(2 sets), shrugs(3 sets), sit-ups (3 sets)

Each of my sets includes 10-15 repitions. :)

  • sasami on July 2nd, 2012 - 1:55pm

Wow, you do a lot. You must be pretty fit and strong, for all that. :D How long have you been doing these exercises?
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on July 3rd, 2012 - 4:37pm

I’ve been doin ‘em for almost three years now, I think. :) Oh, that’s how long I’ve been playin the guitar, too! (I just now noticed that. :P ) Well, I’m not THAT strong (to be humble :P ), but I can lift most of the things my family needs me to. :D

  • taliax177 on July 3rd, 2012 - 4:40pm

Oh, though I feel great, I still wanna get even better at workin out. I still have room for improvement, as the says the adage. :P

  • sasami on July 9th, 2012 - 9:01pm

Wow, that’s longer than I’ve done any exercising. I’m terrible at discipline of that sort. I tried learning piano once, but my nondiscipline got in the way and I stopped. I can read notes, though. :D You’re the oldest, right? So you’re kinda like the “big kid” who helps around the house. I understand that feeling. I’m the youngest of the oldest group, but I get roped into helping sometimes. :D
Definitely, we all have room for improvement. I have like, ultra-mega space for improvement! :D Unfortunately. I used to be a little monkey, climbing all over and stuff, and now I’m too tall and too heavy to do stuff like that. Kinda takes the fun out of life, but hey, now I’m stronger than most of my family!
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on July 10th, 2012 - 2:42pm

Actually, I didn’t need much discipline for lifting weights cuz I loved it. I’m glad I didn’t give up when the going go tough with guitar, now I write music that’s actually pretty good. I really believe the Lord has called me to the field of music… Yeah, I’m the oldest. My birthday is really soon (I’m turning 15!). I mainly do help outside and my three younger siblings do more of the inside house work stuff. I was never that limber. :P

  • sasami on July 11th, 2012 - 11:04pm

You might find this strange to hear, but I’m glad you know what God wants you to do. Sometimes it’s like I’m floating in limbo. If you’ve ever read “The Sword of Shannara” by Terry Brooks, there’s this part where they call someone who’s in limbo, and I feel just like that person. :|

Dude, I hate working outside! I would work inside all day if I could. :D And I’ll let you in a little secret: I just turned fifteen. ;) It’s exciting. I had the best b-day in the world. I hope your’s will be just as fantastically beautiful. I used to think I couldn’t have a good party without my friends. But I’ve learned: my family is even better than any friends could ever be.
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on July 12th, 2012 - 10:03am

Well, I can’t stress enough: Pray. And realize, it’s going to be a little while longer till you absolutely NEED to know God’s will for your life, too. ( :P ) I just turned 15, too! :D I had a great b-day, as well. I actually had forgotten it was my birthday until my mom said, “Talia, happy birthday!”. :P  Yeah, my family is really great. I’ve never actually had any friends so all my b-days have been with family. ;) Driver’s permit, here I come… :P

  • sasami on July 12th, 2012 - 4:06pm

Yeah, I understand. A lot of life isn’t about running around wildly hoping we’ll stumble into our life’s work accidentally. It’s about sitting back, praying, and waiting for God to reveal Himself at just the right moment. :D
Whoa, how can you forget your b-day? I was planning mine for weeks! And it took that long, because I watched a movie every night leading up to my b-day. Mostly fantasy flicks, with some Star Wars. I actually ended the “movie-thon” with a Ben Ten movie. Bleugh. But it was a great ending. :D
Dude, I still have to get my instructor’s permit. I’m not as anxious as I used to be. It’s a lot of work to drive!
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on July 13th, 2012 - 11:04am

Yeah. (That’s the best conclusion I could think of. :P ) Well, since I’m outta school, I usually start the day by taking the dogs outside and planning my day, so it really felt like any other day. :P Man, I hate watching movies (surprisingly)! :P I mean, I can play on the computer (which is equivalent in watching TV in my home), but watching a movie is like a once a week thing for me. I don’t like doing nothing. I mean, watching movies (to me, anyway) requires no though, movement, nothing. So…

  • taliax177 on July 13th, 2012 - 11:06am

I don’t really care to watch. :P Sometimes I stretch while watching a movie, though, which is at least SOMETHING! (Not to say watching TV is bad, I just don’t really enjoy it. :P ) Oops! I meant to say “driving” permit, not “Driver’s” permit. :P I don’t really know much yet, but I soon will! :D

  • sasami on July 14th, 2012 - 4:35pm

Outta school? Dude, I *almost* envy you. I mean, I like to have free time, but doing school actually is more fun than lazing around all day. Now THAT is almost bad enough to make me physically sick. Really.
I wish I had pets to take care of. I used to start my day with feeding Oreo (my cat) every morning. It’s funny, I think I can hold my breath longer than anyone else in my family because I practiced doing it so much while I cleaned the litter box! :P

YOU HATE WATCHING MOVIES??? Dude, I can’t think of something I enjoy doing more! :D Then again, when I watch, I’m constantly thinking about how to enhance my own story lines, and eating popcorn, and waiting for the funny lines, and watching everyone around me to make sure they’re enjoying it. And, I don’t know, I just get totally involved in what’s happening. It’s not really entertainment for me, but a learning experience. ;) Everyone looks at things differently of course, so I’m not necessarily right. Just different.

Btw, how’s Adrian (I hope I spelled that right) doing? :)
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on July 19th, 2012 - 11:14am

Hey, I don’t laze around all day! :P I do quite a bit of working out, reading, and writing during the day. ;) Yeah, we have two dogs, seven rabbits, and, I think, about 12-15 chickens. And Adrian has a goat that lives across the street (we won’t take her home till next year). OK, I don’t HATE watching movies, but I’d rather do something else. I DO enjoy a good laugh from em, though. :P  Adrian’s doin fine! (She’s somewhere around here, maybe on a newer podcast? idk)

  • sasami on July 19th, 2012 - 8:52pm

Okay, bad choice of words there. :P Dude, all I do all day is geometry! Speaking of which, I think I meant *atmospheric* pressure, not geometric!

Ooooo, I love rabbits!!! So cute. Reminds me of this movie I saw once, where the main character has a pet rabbit. I squealed every time it showed the furry lump of cuteness. :D

Glad to hear Adrian’s good! I haven’t seen her in a while, so I wondered. I’m gonna look for her on the newer stuff. This podcast’s, like, over seven months old! I think this is one of the longest conversations I’ve ever had on here. Well, okay, that one we had about crushes on the Pulcelli podcast was pretty long.

  • taliax177 on July 24th, 2012 - 12:02pm

OK, I thought there was some trip there. :P Why? Oh, yeah, atmospheric pressure makes a lot more sense. :P  :P Yeah, on Lego.com I’ve held a conversation with some dudes for a year. :P For real.

  • sasami on July 25th, 2012 - 7:32pm

Trip? :P Yeah, I’ve taken a trip, if that’s what you mean. :D

Yeah, I think I’m not used to the pressure up here, so it wreaks havoc on my system. :D

Wow, a year? Wicked cool! I don’t think I’ve done that yet on here. Though I’m pretty close! And speaking of conversations, I wonder where Manic. Just sorta…disappeared. :?

  • taliax177 on July 30th, 2012 - 6:27am

I meant I thought there was some kinda mess up in the words. :P  Up here? You live on a mountain or something? Yeah, we have the record for the most pages of comments (400 something :P ) She probably went to a newer podcast or somethin. Or she got busy. I’m so busy I barely find time for the computer anymore! :P I’m so involved in my summer goals and all… :D When are you due your break?

  • sasami on July 30th, 2012 - 5:19pm

Okay, gotcha. Yeah, definite mess-up. :D Um, not exactly on a mountain. But a much higher altitude than I was at down in N.C. I live waaaaaaaay north of that now. :D 487 to be exact. Okay, it’ll be 488 when you see this. :)
It seems a lot of people on here are busy. I usually find, like, an hour a day to get on here and check stuff. I have too much free-time! Hm, I don’t think I’ll take a break. I’m actually behind schedule (what little schedule I have, of course!). I’m planning to finish school by 16, which means I need to get a real hurry-up. I have like, less than two years to finish 10, 11, and 12 gr. :( I’m doomed…. But, it’ll be good for me. I think. :D
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on August 1st, 2012 - 6:31am

I won’t be able to finish school that soon. :P I’ll just be entering highschool this year even though I’m 15. It doesn’t bother me, though… My parents waited till I was the maximum age for entering school to put me in. (I never failed a grade or anything… :P ) 487? 488? What do those #s mean? :?

  • sasami on August 1st, 2012 - 5:11pm

Everyone’s different. I didn’t know I had it in me to do two grade in one year until my mom made me do it. And it worked…sorta. Now I have to push myself through geometry. I don’t want to be like a guy I know: almost nineteen and just started eleventh grade. You haven’t always been homeschooled, right? I think I asked this before, but sometimes I get totally confused! Like now…

Um, I meant the number of comments on this page. What’d you mean? :?
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on August 2nd, 2012 - 11:24am

No, I was homeschooled for kindergarten, then put in public school until 5th grade. 6th grade was my “first” year of homeschooling since kindergarten was such a long time ago. I know, sometimes I forget who told me what on here. :P Oh, # of comments, gotcha.

  • sasami on August 2nd, 2012 - 5:37pm

    Gotcha. I have such a flutter-brain, I don’t know how I get anything done!
I’ve been homeschooled my whole life (never so much as set foot inside a school during normal instruction hours). It’s nice, I guess. But it makes me miss out an a lot of “normal” teenage things, like sports and friends. Which isn’t too bad; I have enough siblings to make up for it! :D

Um, yeah, number of comments. That wasn’t what you meant, was it?
    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on August 4th, 2012 - 11:38am

Wow, I’m usually the kinda person like “If I start this, I will finish it ASAP!” ( :P  ) That’s cool. I wish I had been, I went through a lotta pain at that school… I’d rather be “abnormal” than tearful… I only have three sibs, so it’s a little harder for me. :P I’m more interested in independent activities for the most part anyway, I think. :D Yup. That’s what I meant. :P

  • sasami on August 6th, 2012 - 6:24pm

Haha, I drag things out waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long! Well, it’s like my dad said once: he’s the sort of person to wait until the very last moment and pull an all-nighter; my mom will quit at the very beginning because she doesn’t think she can do it. I inherited the best and worst parts of those qualities. :D

Yeah, though being abnormal can bring a few tears. I remember bitterly sobbing over the fact that I couldn’t make friends very well. But that was years ago. I’m more adjusted to society now. And in the end, I don’t view having friends as the ultimate goal in life. There’s so much I can do without them. Then again, they inhanse life sometimes. All in all, I’m glad I went through the pain of being a home-school kid. It helps me appreciate my few friends better. :D

So, by independent activities, you mean you like to do things by yourself? Or something along those lines? :D

    Saruko Sasami

  • taliax177 on August 10th, 2012 - 8:01am

My dad is kinda like yours. He does put things off a little, and then he wants to get it all done fast. My mom wants to do things slowly… :P I just wanna do it, now, and be done with it so I never have to do it again. :P Well, unfortunately, I’ve been able to make any friends, home schooled or public. I’m never around other young people now that I’m home schooled, so it’s even harder. When I was at school, I just didn’t fit in with any of the cliques, so I made 0 friends…

  • taliax177 on August 10th, 2012 - 8:03am

Yeah, I do a lotta things by myself. But that’s only because none of my sibs are interested in the same things I am. I like primitive skills, computer coding, physical work, music, etc. They are like my complete opposites sometimes. :P

  • sasami on August 10th, 2012 - 4:42pm

Haha, all my sibs are like my dad: we procrastinate until the last possible moment, and then dash wildly around with our heads screwed on sideways. Okay, my sisters aren’t as bad; my bro and I are the worst. :D

Dude, I so know what you mean! I didn’t make ANY friends until I started going to Awana. I mean, I had a few friends who were kids of my dad’s friends, but other than that I was alone. Okay, I have some older sisters, and we’re really close, so I didn’t suffer intense loneliness. Just…a little out of the loop. :( I didn’t fit into the cliques at all, even at church. But I made friends with other misfits, so we were all wacko together! :D

Wow, you like interesting stuff! I like music too, not playing, just listening. I have musical abilities and brains, I just don’t use’em for that kind of stuff! I like writing better. In fact, my dad once cracked a joke that if I could, I’d be all alone in my own little cabin in the woods, typing away at my stories. I had to laugh, cause it reminds me of this movie I really wanted to see about a girl who’s doing something very similar to that! It’s called “Hanna”. :D

  • taliax177 on August 15th, 2012 - 11:58am

That sounds terrible. ( :P ) Oops, I made a typo last time. I meant, I’ve NEVER been able to make any friends. And, as I said before, I’m never around other people so I don’t even have opportunities to make friends. :( I write stories sometimes, but I don’t enjoy it that much. (Which is ironic because my mom tells me I’m really good. :P )

  • regollin :) on August 16th, 2012 - 10:55am

Hey FTU: Is this the podcast you wanted me to find? Or is it a different one? I’ll keep looking in case it’s not.

  • sasami on August 16th, 2012 - 6:24pm

Wow, I’d love for my mom to tell me I’m good. She just complains I use too many commas! :D Oh, well, forgive me for not paying attention to that part of my grammar, but life was calling! :P

Yeah, it was pretty bad. But now I’m not so awkward. I don’t know how it happened, but somehow I came out of my shell and found life wasn’t as scary as I used to believe. I’m still a bit of a recluse, but I’ll learn with time. :P

Do you live out in the country or something? Or does your family not go out often? Mine isn’t the sociable type; my dad’s an intellect, not a conversationalist. :) And there’s so many of us, it’s a hassle to drag everyone all over the place. I guess that kinda explains why I spend so much time on here; I find the peers I’m missing in “real life”. :?

@ Regollin: No, but you’re close! The real one is a video podcast, back before the Radio Theater one. In fact, it’s somewhere on here: http://whitsendblog.org/category/video-podcasts/page/3/. Hope that helps! :D And I hope you find it SOON!!! I really miss talking to you, and I won’t be here much longer! :(

  • taliax177 on August 21st, 2012 - 8:57am

I guess you haven’t learned the rules of comma distribution yet. :P We don’t live in the country, but we want to. We live in a town, but it’s not very big, so we have a mini-farm on a quarter acre plot. It’s kinda like we live in the country only we’re surrounded by neighbors. :P My family doesn’t go out often. We don’t go to church, homeschool, and that blocks out almost all human contact. ( :P ) At least for me. We don’t go to church because there aren’t any nearby that are real…

  • taliax177 on August 21st, 2012 - 8:59am

What I mean is, they’re all about gettin ya saved and then they’re done with ya. “You’re baptized, see ya!” kinda thing. So we do family devotions at home on Sundays. I do get to go up north every Nov and meet up with some old friends, which I’m lookin forward to. :D

  • taliax177 on August 21st, 2012 - 9:00am

Oh, you were talking about writing, well, if you wanna publish, I know a way you could do that NO COST with a Christian publisher. (You mighta heard of em, they’re called Zondervan.) ;) :D

  • sasami on August 22nd, 2012 - 5:27pm

Haha, tell me about it! I learned the rules, I just don’t know how to apply’em! :D
Dude, I so know what you mean about real churches. They’re a needle in a haystack. My family does devotions at home on Sunday, too. We listen to a lot of John MacArthur. :) We homeschool, too, so it’s kinda me and my siblings for all the social interaction.
Wow, I hope you have a good time up north! It’s funny, to see my old friends I have to go south. :D

Oh, wow! NO COST??? That would be super (as soon as I finish one of my stories, which I’m close to!) I have heard of Zondervan, they’re like, on the front of every StoryKeeper’s movie! Do you have any information on them relating to the publishing thing? That is like sosososososo cool!!!

  • taliax177 on August 26th, 2012 - 6:35am

My mom MAKES me apply them. If I’m writing for another subject and I slip up on something I just learned in English, I miss a few points for that. I’m really lookin forward to the huntin trip (Nov). Yeah, it’s NO COST. If you wanna read more go to the Zondervan official site, and there’s a tab that says “About”. A menu slips down from that and you choose “Manuscripts”. It’ll fill you in on some of the details there. They published a few of the Bibles my family owns. :D I guess (about no cost)…

  • taliax177 on August 26th, 2012 - 6:36am

they think that if your book is good enough they’ll publish it for free and then when it sells you’ll get like 80% profit and they’ll get like 20%. idk, that’s just an idea.

No problem! Well, we’re not sure yet. It depends on how fast I fill my deer tags (I have 2). If I fill ‘em both fast, I’d say I’ll be gone about a week. At the most, I’ll be gone for 2 weeks. But my state had a drought this summer so the hunting should be REALLY good. (Deer don’t have food to eat at home, so they’ll be moving, therefore, we’ll see them more often.) Most of the time I never see any. :P  Yeah, it’ll be fun. :D I am so lookin forward to it cuz I didn’t get to go last year! :D

So, how long have you been doing this? This hunting trip thing, I mean. Where I live, the big hunting deal is the moose. Some people do it with bows, Legolas style, but that takes a ton of strength. I’ve actually only fired a weapon on the shooting range, but I beat my older siblings and another guy who was there, also older. It was great. :D

Wait, you’re only in ninth grade? I’m finishing up tenth, I’ll be in eleventh by the New Year. :D I hope you have a nice time in high-school *sigh* I feel kinda sorry my first half is almost up. :(

But still, the days that were fun, WERE AWESOME!
    How was your summer?

  • taliax177 on September 6th, 2012 - 10:22am

I’ve been going every year (except my sister went instead of me last year) since I was 12. :D Here, people hunt whatever. (If it’s in season, that is.) Whitetails, rabbits, squirrels, coyotes, turkeys, etc. I have a bow, but I’ve never shot it. My dad got it a long time ago, so it’s too small for me anyway. :P  What kind of firearm was it? A .22 or something? When we go deer hunting I usually shoot a 30.30, but this year I’ll be picking up a .308. ;) I’m glad I’m not a sophomore yet…

Well, my summer was really short, but punctuated by happy writing spurts and long, clandestine conversations with my brother, which were totally awesome. I had a great time on my b-day, too, and once my dad and I sat up talking through the entire “night” (that is, we saw the sun set and rise in about an hour). It was great! :D

@ Talia: Wow, sounds like you’ve made a tradition of it! :D So, what state are you in? Do you go out of state to go hunting, or is it just a more northern area?

Wait: Adrian went hunting? ;) That I’ve gotta see!

Okay, I’m not really sure what a 30.30 is, but I do know what a .22 is. I’ve shot a .357, and a Browning, which is like, really special or something. And….I’ve fired some guns my grandpa had on his farm…not sure what they were… *raises brow*

Haha, good luck with the guitar! Or maybe, um, Godspeed with it. :D I’m a musical person, I play by ear, but I’ve never really tried to learn an instrument. Guitar is fun, though. Oooooo….reminds me of this YouTube video I saw where this little boy, probably eight or nine, was playing the old Mission Impossible theme on a guitar, and he was doing it like a pro! Probably born with it in his hands. :D

  • regollin :) on September 7th, 2012 - 5:27pm

FTU: Lol! A 357 special means that it is an upgraded version of a 357 revolver. I’ve shot that one too. It’s got quite a bit of kick!

Woah… I just thought of something. A chinchilla shooting a 357 special! It’s arms flying back just before he flies backwards

I live in Missouri and we just go up to Northern Missouri for the hunting trip. Yes, Adrian went hunting last year, but she didn’t shoot anything. :( This year looks like it’s gonna be good, though, cuz all the point restrictions have been waved (there are rules that you can’t shoot a deer if he has less than a certain amount of antler points) and since there was a drought, the deer won’t be able to hide in standing corn or anything. It’ll be awesome! :D
I want to play by ear, but I can’t yet.

Ok, so here are the rules.

#1 Change your posing name to SHMEEBO!

#2 But write your real posting name at the top and bottom of your post!

#3 There is no rule number 3!

    #4 Have fun! :D

Ok, I’ll give the backround on SHMEEBO day.
Last year, in Early September, I introduced my little sister SHMEEBO to the podcast. I thought of the name SHMEEBO because, well, I just thought it sounded funny. And Sheyenne’s little sister STORMY thought so too. So she decided there should be a holiday named after her! So This year we celebrate SHMEEBO day! Glad it’s gonna be a good season for you. :D

So, do you have to train yourself to play by ear? I do it naturally…I think. ;)

Yeah, I know what you mean. Though, I think this guy’s the real McCoy. For one thing, he has his own touring schedule, albums, and publicity stuff. Some famous Korean dude, I guess. Though I’m not sure, he could be anything (nationality wise, that is).

Actually, people ate the organs back then as well as the lean meat. Or they used them for fishing bait or something like that. Some animal organs even have medicinal properties, if I remember right… So, my point is, I don’t think they buried them. They, at the very least, fed them to their dog or something. :P Some people are “born” with amazing ear perfection while others aren’t. I am not, therefore, yes, I will have to train myself. (oh, brother :P ) My biggest musical obstacle is RHYTHM. :P

Anyway, I read in Swiss Family Robinson about how they found a dead whale and used the intestines and stomach for storage containers. Talk about resourceful! :D

@ Regollin: Well, I wouldn’t say my favorite band, more like he’s done a few songs I really like. And *sigh* I do listen to Toby Mac now. I know, I know, I wouldn’t before, but now…maybe my standards are lowering or something. Freaky thought! :O
But, I do like L.P. (maybe because he doesn’t say he’s a Christian and doesn’t act like it either), and I do like Ignition by T.m. Other than that, I wouldn’t buy their albums (probably), and I wouldn’t go to their concerts or anything. I use the songs as background noise. Surprise, surprise, most of the stuff I write about Spiret is set against the driving tones of Numb or In the End.
    FearTheUnknown 8-)
P.S. And those songs remind me of one of the happiest times in my life…good memories, good memories…

@ Regollin: I know, the kick is crazy! My dad said that if one of us ever shot that gun, we’d never shoot again because one 1: the noise and 2: the almighty kick. I think the part I like best about shooting is the loading part of the ammunition. I love the little cha-chink it makes when the bullets slide in. I used to play Half-Life on the cpu and it had the coolest reload sounds EVER!

Haha, chinchilla couldn’t get his little furry paws about that huge grip. Or pull the trigger. But I think a Spiretan could… :D

I was just looking at you guys comments up there, and I noticed you said that churches just get you saved ad they’re done with ya. I don’t believe that’s true at all! The church body is meant to build each other up and praise God as a group of people. It’s a place where we encourage each other as a body of believers like it says in the Bible. Sure, they do try to get people to become Christians, but isn’t that what we’re all supposed to do? Not just praise God at home by ourselves with our families. I’m not saying that’s bad, but hey, there’s enough time to do that during the week! I believe we are called to praise God as a body of believers and praise God In public where we can tell the world about our faith. I hope you guys don’t think I’m criticizing or anything, It’s great to worship God as a family. In fact, I wish my family did it more! And I’m not saying you need to stop worshiping as a family and go find a church either. I just hope you get what I’m saying. I also hope you guys see this. I realize you haven’t been commenting on this podcast any more.

Lol, if I posted this on more recent podcast where everyone still comments, I may have myself another OMG war ;P

Regollin, the chinchilla who hopes you get what I’m saying. :)

Lol FTU. I guess you are right about my spelling! I have quite a few errors in my previous post :P

  • ftu on January 5th, 2013 - 7:06pm

First off, I just wanna say how nice it sounds to hear you say you guys. :)

Okay, now on to business. I so totally get what you’re saying, Regollin. It’s a good thing to meet together with other believers outside the biological family to worship. In fact, I think the Bible commands it! But where I come from (and I think where Talia comes from as well), the churches aren’t that kind of church. They focus too much on one thing. And in some I’ve been in, there were all sorts of political things going on behind the scene. It was like you couldn’t trust anyone. I’m not saying all churches are like that…but it’s so hard to find one that isn’t. I think house churches are going to be a lot more prevalent in my life, due to the high amount of distaste I have garnered for the institutionalized church. Besides, with a family my size, and kids who don’t attend youth group, we have a hard time fitting in. The sad truth. :( Anyway, I hope you understand all that. I tend to “talk big” when I’m trying to sound like I know what I’m talking about. :) I don’t know where Talia is…you might wanna post it on a newer podcast and address it to her.
Course, that might get us into a whole bunch of trouble. :? I don’t think people will start another war….but then again—-you never know! Better safe than sorry, I guess. :|
